Capacity vs Image Quality

MemorEyes offers recording times in excess of 3 hours using the fixed internal storage medium at the highest data rates with the highest quality. Much more recording capacity is available at lower data rates.

When recording PAL or NTSC resolutions in full colour at the highest data rate, the movie image quality is roughly comparable to the high quality (HQ) setting that is familiar to most of us through using consumer DVD recorders.  The  added advantage is that all frames are recorded. (Note: this is an approximation as it is a comparison with MPEG compression schemes used on DVD.)

Lower data rates are generally unsuitable for colour video, but monochrome video may be recorded with medium to high fidelity at low rates.

The chart is indicative of the trade-off between data rates and recording times.
